Individual support in everyday school life for children and young people with special educational needs if their participation in lessons is impaired and they cannot cope with it on their own.
If a child or young person is impaired in their participation in school lessons due to a diagnosed..., they are entitled to a person who accompanies and supports the person entitled to benefits during lessons.
In principle, every child and young person can receive school supervision, although this is only provided by the youth or social welfare offices under certain conditions. Otherwise, the parents have to cover the costs themselves.
The prerequisite for entitlement to a benefit is a diagnosis from a doctor confirming that the child/young person has special educational needs.
The prerequisite for working in school support in cooperation with the Frankfurt Youth Welfare Office is at least a 2-year training course in social assistance or a pedagogical degree from the 4th semester
Educators and special education nurses who have completed a year of recognition as well as social educators and teachers who have completed their studies can also work as educational specialists in school support.
